Overview

Cupping therapy works by expanding the capillaries and promoting blood flow into and out of the affected tissues. During a cupping session, the patient lies face-down on a massage table, as cups are strategically placed on the back, arms and/or shoulders, depending on the targeted tissues. After placement, the cups are heated until they create a suction vacuum effect.

Cupping targets skin and deep tissues to relieve pain, break up scar tissue and relax myofascial and connective tissues. Unlike massage, which applies pressure to targeted areas, cupping draws pressure away from affected tissues.

Try this ancient treatment if you are suffering from any soreness, stiffness or pain in your body. Combine with Acupuncture for a powerful holistic treatment that provides long term pain relief!

Benefits

Cupping therapy is used to treat a broad range of conditions, including:

Muscle and Joint Pain

Upper respiratory infections

Headaches

Reproductive disorders

Skin conditions

High blood pressure

Depression and anxiety

Varicose veins

Cellulite

FAQ

Does cupping hurt? Cupping shouldn't cause pain, though you may experience some skin tightness during the procedure. After cupping therapy, you may feel bruised and slightly sore, but you shouldn't have severe discomfort.

What happens after the cupping session? After cupping, your skin will be more sensitive to temperature in the areas where the cups were placed. You may also have some red circle where the cups were placed, but they will soon dissipate.

What I should avoid immediately after cupping? Hot showers, saunas, hot tubs, strong air conditioning, intense exercise.
