Troy Harris, LMSW

Psychotherapist, Witch, Abolitionist

Troy Mariko Harris (she/her) is a Licensed Master Social Worker whose goal is to help others heal through a combination of psychotherapy, spirituality, and movement. She integrates a humanistic approach with traditional and non-traditional modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, strengths-based therapy, spell casting, and divination. She is a trained crisis counselor and has extensive experience helping people process trauma, mood disorders, chronic pain, and interpersonal challenges.

Troy’s main focus is familial trauma. Family is a topic often accompanied by complex thoughts and feelings that can be difficult to accept and express; Troy works with her clients to create a judgment-free space in which they feel empowered to say anything and everything they need to. She wants to help clients break the cycle of generational trauma through exploring boundaries and tailoring interactive styles to the unique needs of their families. Her specialities include: being childfree (intentional and unintentional), parental regret, adolescence, parent/child relationships, and romantic partnerships.

Troy identifies as a Black lesbian Witch and is passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community and people of color, and strives to provide an environment in which people with “unorthodox” spiritual beliefs are understood and taken seriously. She has co-led seminars on anti-racism in the healthcare system for medical students, given presentations on providing culturally competent crisis intervention, and facilitated workshops on meditation through visual arts, self-discovery through astrology, processing trauma through stretching, and manifesting in accordance with the cycles of the moon.

Troy believes that healing is not a monolithic experience and that every individual deserves to have the time and space to identify their mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual needs. She collaborates with clients to develop treatment plans that aim to establish embodied practices that will help them reach their goals and participate in life on their own terms.
